When did you become involved in HFES at UW-Madison?
Fall of 2019, although I had been to a few HFES meetings (without knowing that’s what they were) earlier that year.
Why did you join UW-Madison HFES?
I joined UW-Madison HFES to be a part of a community of students who had similar interests and aspirations.
What is your favorite part of being a member of UW-Madison HFES?
My favorite part of being an HFES member is being mentored by and mentoring other students. There’s nothing more fulfilling than helping someone achieve their goals and know themselves newly!
In what ways have human factors and ergonomics impacted your life?
Human factors and ergonomics has really given me a lens to understand the challenges we face and take tangible steps to improve them. It’s shaped how I approach everything in my life.
Other than human factors and ergonomics, what do you aspire to learn more about?
I aspire to learn (and do every day) about how to support people through pregnancy and birth as I am training to be a birth doula!
What inspires you to wake up in the morning?
What gets me up in the morning is knowing the difference my research and community work makes for families. Practically speaking, I usually wake up to my little kitten lying on my face, though.
